LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER
E: cathyauth@gmail.com
Catherine Auth is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who provides psychotherapy to individuals of all ages experiencing emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, and trauma- or loss-related issues. She has extensive experience working with both children and adults, drawing on psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and attachment-based frameworks.
Using an eclectic therapeutic approach, Catherine helps adults gain insight into their emotional lives, reflect on the ways the past shapes current behaviors and relationships, and shift self-defeating patterns. Through a collaborative therapeutic relationship, clients are guided to understand all parts of themselves with curiosity, compassion, and acceptance. This approach fosters confidence, a renewed sense of well-being, improved relationship functioning, and greater clarity in life’s journey.
With young children, Catherine provides play therapy utilizing imaginative play, art, and sand tray therapy to support emotional expression, the development of coping strategies, and meaning-making around their experiences. Collaboration with parents is an integral part of this process, helping them to better understand their children’s emotions, manage behaviour effectively, and strengthen attachment relationships.
Catherine's practice also welcomes children, families, and adults at any stage of adoption. Her psychotherapeutic work with pre-adoptive children in foster care, combined with personal experience in adoption, provides a unique perspective enriched with empathy, insight, and deep understanding of the adoption experience. Using trauma-informed and attachment-based approaches, Catherine supports children and families as they navigate the emotional landscape of adoption.
